Tour of New Student Work at Photoville
Filed to: calendar
One of the best things about Photoville is the incredible variety or work on display, from seasoned photojournalists and legacy media outlets, and world class photo agencies, the bar is set very high. But there is also always a strong contingent of new work to be seen by emerging photographers, so this year I’ll be leading a tour specifically highlighting work by students enrolled in, or recently graduated from, leading photography programs from around the world, featuring stops at exhibitions hosted by the International Center of Photography, Parsons School of Design, New York Film Academy, the High School of Art and Design and the High School of Fashion Industries, Shanghai Normal University, and the United Nations International School. Students from each of these incredible institutions will be at their exhibitions during the tour to talk about their process, their inspirations, and their ambitions, and their teachers and mentors will be on hand to field questions about their respective programs.
The tour is free, and does not require advanced registration. Just show up at the New Dock Street entrance to Photoville in Dumbo, Brooklyn on Saturday, Sept.14, 4pm-5pm, and look for a volunteer waving a Walking Tours flag.
